Ross Sprackett

Ross Sprackett grew up as third generation of a logging family.  His grandfather George arrived in the Gilmour area in or around 1870.  George opened his lumber mill in a town full of loggers.

Ross’s father Jim Sprackett continued in the lumber tradition when his father passed.

Ross and his brother Don took on the family business until its closure in 1985.

Ross followed in his fathers footsteps in the political realm as well.  He was Reeve from 1967 to 1985.

Ross married Mary in Bancroft in 1929.
